Confessions of a Single Christian Female: Entry #2. Is it ok to ask for God’s Best?

So I’ve been hearing different kinds of news lately, wars, rumor of wars, famine, calamities. I asked the Lord, “Lord, is it still ok if I ask for a Lifetime Partner? (in our Church, we call it “God’s Best), because it seems the world’s coming to an end and I feel selfish thinking of myself and to bother You Father with such “petty stuff”, but who can I tell these things Lord if not You?”.. so I wondered that day…

I know the Lord cares about me, but I’m not sure if I should even bother Him with such desires.

Then our pastor during our online bible study (we call it Skypleship), discussed these verses:

Psalm 139
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

1 You have searched me, Lord,
 and you know me.
2  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3  You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
 you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

These verses describes an OMNISCIENT GOD – an All Knowing God.

In verse 1, God knows us.

In verse 2, He knows our plans, He knows our schedules, He knows our thoughts.

Verse 3, He knows our beginning and end. He knows the every detail of our lives.

Verse 4, He knows the words I’m about to say, or my thoughts which precedes my words (whether I uttered them or not).

Verse 5: You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways. (NASB) He is particular about where we’re going. Nothing happens to us that escapes His knowledge.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. What security we have in our Lord who knows everything about us?!

— I guess these verses just answered my question. GOD is concerned with every  bit of me. Just when I think He’s too busy. He answers me, “No, I’m pretty much in the detail of your life, and is concerned about you asking that question“. He is my CREATOR and He is absolutely not busy to hear me. 🙂 He’s just awesome like that!

Extras:

* the Photo above is called Halu-Halo (Filipino word which means mixed). Simply because you mix in the ingredient that suits your taste. Perfect for summer! Talk about being detailed right! 😀

* Our Skypleship Dgroup is an online bible study where we meet using Skype. People meet from different countries, all hungry to learn to follow Jesus. This platform of discipleship has blessed me tremendously. All glory to God!
